Travelling Ava gets a dress
I’ve finally finished my Travelling Ava doll. Well sort of. She is currently a very naked doll but she does have hair and I did change the design of the mouth.
I want to make Ava a 1920’s inspired dress, she is a classy lady and I imagine she will get invited to a lot of fancy parties. So she needs a fancy party dress. I found this beautiful Twinkle wool in my yarn stash and thought this would make a perfect dress.
Crocheting toys is still a very new skill for me, I’m learning all the time. Crocheting outfits for my doll is an even newer skill for me so there is lots of trial and error when I’m designing. I mostly make what I call happy accidents, I start out with an idea, if I’m lucky I will come close. The waist is lower than I wanted but for a first attempt I don’t think it is too bad, at least Ava isn’t naked anymore.
