I’m a creator and curator of beautiful things. My designs are influenced by the books I read, the TV I watch, the music I listen to and the art I love. My tastes are eclectic and I love discovering new favourite things to challenge and inspire me. I’m curious, passionate and nostalgic. This is reflected in the range of costume jewellery I create. I love to upcycle and this is reflected in my steampunk and vintage inspired jewellery creations. My 80s childhood combined with my obsession for yarn, buttons and ribbons has fuelled my crochet designs. It has lead me to create an intriguing mix of magical crochet characters. I’m now the official biographer (and crochet designer) narrating the adventures of Travelling Ava. Through my creative pursuits I have met so many amazing people and I can’t wait to meet you too.

Rievaulx Abbey

If you are looking for something to do over the summer break, Travelling Ava recommends a visit to Rievaulx Abbey in North Yorkshire.

Travelling Ava Visits St. Peter Port, Guernsey

Travelling Ava had a brief visit to St. Peter Port in Guernsey. Travelling Ava loves looking at photos from her past adventures and she realised that she hadn’t shared this adventure with you.

Monsters… at The Word

Travelling Ava loves to the visit The Word in South Shields as you know. It is one of her favourite places to take a break and be creative. She also loves visiting the exhibitions there and was especially excited about their latest exhibition “The Good, The Bad and The Cuddly Monsters”

Bones… South Shields Museum

Travelling Ava loves a mini adventure, I’m so busy it is great finding places to visit and things to do that I squeeze into my busy schedule. A visit to South Shields Museum is always a lovely treat and they have really good exhibitions.

Mini Adventure to Thirsk

This Easter Travelling Ava had a mini adventure. I had intended on taking her into York with us but unfortunately, it was very wet and cold, not a good combination for taking Travelling doll pictures.

Travelling Ava… Everyone likes an origin story

Would you like to know where Travelling Ava came from? It is a very good question and I’m sure it has an interesting answer. As we already know Travelling Dolls aren’t like other dolls, they are magic.

A Hot Beautiful Day in Lisbon

The next stop on Ava’s first ever cruise was Lisbon. She woke up to beautiful sunshine. The hustle and bustle of the amazing city lying just beyond the port.
