Travelling Ava has been anticipating the opening of the Hive Coffee Company. So today I decided it would be a good day for a mini adventure.

Hive 12

It is a little bit overcast today but the surroundings are beautiful. Situated next to Jarrow Hall (formerly Bede’s World) and just up the road from Charlies Park. It is a great location. The perfect place to stop for some refreshments.

The beautiful red brick building that is the home of the Hive Coffee Company is light and airy with beautiful views from the window overlooking the park.

The modern Scandi inspired interior design has bright splashes of green from the adorable succulents decorating the tables. It is a lovely location to meet friends for a catch-up, for a tasty lunch or afternoon treat.

Ava has had a busy week of adventures, which of course means cake, so today I thought we would try something different and opt for a tasty piece of mushroom and leek quiche. Of course, Ava was disappointed that I didn’t treat her to cake but we will definitely be coming back so that is something¬†we can save for another day.

It has such a lovely atmosphere in the high ceiling rooms. I love all of the quirky touches that make this such a wonderful place to take a break and treat yourself to a steamy beverage of choice.

Travelling Ava thoroughly enjoyed her visit to¬†the Hive Coffee Company and can’t wait to go back.
